  17. PROBLEM:           The Floppy Disk Controller on the Enterprise II motherboard
  18.            is not compatible with a streaming tape drive.  (This 
  19.            problem will also affect the Enterprise I, Series-25 
  20.            motherboard.  See Tech Tip 25.002).

  22. REASON:            The Intel 82077-1 Floppy Disk Controller used on the 
  23.            motherboard does not support streaming tape drives.
  24.  
  25. SOLUTION:          Intel now has a version of the Floppy Disk Controller that 
  26.            is compatible with streaming tape drives.  The Intel part 
  27.            Number is 82077AA-1.  All boards should be shipped with the
  28.            new 82077AA-1 Floppy Disk Controller in the future.  If a 
  29.            customer has a board with the 82077-1 Floppy Disk Controller
  30.            and needs to use a streaming tape drive, the Floppy Disk 
  31.            Controller should be swapped for the new one.  It is a 
  32.            68-pin PLCC package at U76.  It is in a socket but a
  33.                    special tool is needed to remove it from the socket.
